      <description>&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.ffab.co.uk/ffab/projects/Entries/2009/2/13_The_Laureate_-_cinematic_feature_files/the20man_1.png&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://www.ffab.co.uk/ffab/projects/Media/object018_1.png&quot; style=&quot;float:left; padding-right:10px; padding-bottom:10px; width:139px; height:310px;&quot;/&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Three people, one marriage, no escape.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;A cinematic feature about one of the most influential writers of the twentieth century, Robert Graves, famous as a poet and writer.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;His landmark anti-war memoir of the First World war, Good-bye to All That, and his historical study of poetic inspiration, The White Goddess, have never been out of print.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Most notably, The White Goddess drew heavily from the Celtic mythology of Wales and Ireland, and argues that the ancient religions involved the worship of a single goddess.  He also concluded that the that the male-dominant monotheistic god of Judaism and its successors were the cause of the White Goddess's downfall, and thus the source of much of the modern world's woe.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;His deference to women was remarkably progressive for the time, and evident in his support for both his wife in pursuing her career, and for his writing partner (and lover) Laura Riding in pursuing her writing career.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;He fought with the Royal Welch Fusiliers gaining an early reputation as a war poet, and was badly wounded at the Battle of the Somme.  He was not expected to survive because of a shell fragment in his lung, and was in fact reported dead.  He recovered gradually and sat out the remainder of the war, convalescing for much of the time in Harlech, Wales.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The film is a co-production between the UK and Ireland and is to be directed by award winning director William Nunez, North End Pictures, New York.  Production is planned in 2010.</description>

The tension &lt;br/&gt;mounts as they try desperately to summon help, quell dissension and find a way out. Director Philip Moran’s surprise ending will linger in your imagine for a long time.</description>
